Arena Health & Fitness UK is an independent fitness and weight training gym with two sites based in Newark-upon-Trent, Nottinghamshire and more recently Collingham, Lincolnshire.


With two fully equipped gyms plus highly qualified staff, we are more than able to assist you achieve your goals. We pride ourselves on creating friendly and welcoming environments, which caters for all ages and abilities. 

The gyms are equipped with a wide variety of cardiovascular and resistance machines plus a large selection of free weights including; multiple bench presses, lifting platform, squat rack and DB's up to 50kg.


We also have a functional area that includes a prowler track, battle ropes, kettlebells, farmer's walk handles and more, plus a training rig that has punch bags, TRX, cables and monkey bars to name a few!

With a number of different personal training packages on offer too, we can accommodate clients no matter their ability or previous experience. Please contact us if you wish to discuss the options available. 


Martin Clurow - Owner & Personal Trainer 

Having worked in the fitness industry since the day he left school, Martin now has over 15 years of experience. Starting out as a Fitness Instructor in a busy leisure centre gym, he went on to complete his Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification to become a self-employed PT and now runs his own gym, Arena Health and Fitness UK.

“I absolutely love my job! I feel very lucky to wake up every morning and look forward to going to work. From being employed, self-employed, running classes, personal training and running my own gym I feel I've experienced loads that the fitness industry has to offer. I get a real buzz from helping people and seeing them achieve or exceed their goals. It's such a rewarding career.” 

Martin isn't one for sitting back or slowing down and still has further aspirations. 

“I'm ambitious and very excited about progressing the gym further. We have lots of ideas and plans of how we want to grow and develop the business. There's no plans to sit still - moving premises in 2019 w
as just the start of a new chapter!

Graham Curson - Owner & Personal Trainer

Having completed 17 years in the military service, Graham decided to begin a career in the Fitness Industry. He qualified as a Level 3 Personal Trainer in 2012, and has since gone on to complete further qualifications to better himself including Pre and Post-Natal Exercise, Kettles, TRX, Bootcamp, Circuits and Boxercise. He completed the London Marathon in April 2016, and has taken part in many OCR’s (Obstacle Course Races) including Tough Mudder and Spartan Race.

With Graham’s vast experience, you can be assured of a high level of training using a mixture of old and new techniques to help you achieve your aims or goals whatever they maybe. All clients are treated individually and receive tailored training and nutritional plans specific to their requirements.

Hayley Town - Personal Trainer

With a lifelong passion for exercise, Hayley decided to become a qualified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer and hasn’t looked back. With a busy PT schedule plus teaching several weekly group exercise classes, she is enjoying sharing her vast knowledge with her clients to give them a happier, healthier lifestyle.

“I wanted to work in the fitness industry as exercise has always been a part of my life since a young age. I have always been into sports such as tennis, badminton, netball, and running, and I currently play for a local netball team which is a great way to keep fit, have fun and socialise. The PT course I completed has given me great knowledge and understanding of the human body and the amazing positive effects exercise has on the body and the mind.”

Hayley designs exercise programmes and nutrition plans that are specific to each individual, to ensure you get the most from your training. She offers one to one PT sessions as well as joint sessions for those of you wanting to work out with a friend.

Colette Gough - Personal Trainer


As a mother of five girls I understand how hard it can be to stay in shape whilst balancing a busy lifestyle but, with the right nutrition, training plan and motivation it's all possible. Whether your goal is to lose fat, build muscle or just be healthier I have the knowledge and personal experience to help.


I have always enjoyed sports and being active and getting back into fitness has given me more energy and a new lease of life. I am always setting myself new goals and last year I achieved my goal to compete in a fitness model competition. This has given me more confidence in my personal training and new goals to work towards. My aim is to share with others all that I have learnt and inspire them on their own fitness journey.

Victoria - Aerial Hoop & Personal Trainer


I’m Victoria and I joined Arena with the intention of bringing something new to the community. I have trained at high class Aerial centres in London and specialise in Aerial Hoop.


I also teach flexibility and am a qualified personal trainer.


It is a joy to be a part of this amazing team and I am co-creating something wonderful - particularly for women - alongside these wonderful people and those who attend my aerial classes.

Dan - Disability Specialist Personal Trainer

I had a freak accident just over 8 years ago in Spain which left me wheelchair bound. I decided to become a PT to help others, both able bodied and otherwise, to see people smash their goals.


I play for Leicester Tigers wheelchair rugby team in my spare time when I'm not in the gym helping others, We won a gold medal in Poland going unbeaten in 2022. I'm excited to achieve more and smash some new goals with clients this year.

I'm Veronika, and I am thrilled to be part of Arena Health and Fitness Collingham!

With a decade of workout experience under my belt, my recent passion has been focused on bodybuilding over the past year. I'm genuinely enthusiastic about movement and strength, which is why I've chosen to become a personal trainer. 

My goal here is simple: I want to help as many people as possible feel strong and good about themselves. I specialize in creating straightforward yet effective fitness plans tailored to help individuals feel their absolute best. 

Additionally, having personally experienced the positive impact of the gym on mental health, I am eager to share all the benefits the gym holds. 

The gym has always been my sanctuary, not just for physical well-being but for improving my mental health as well.

Abigail - Personal Trainer
Based at Arena Collingham 


Hi, I’m Abigail and I am a certified Personal Trainer and professional Dancer. 

Coming from the dance industry I have seen a lot of unhealthy relationships with both food and exercise so my goal it to help people avoid this! 

My method of training is aiding clients in achieving their fitness goals, whatever that may be, whilst keeping the process enjoyable and non-restrictive. For me, the mental benefits of exercise are just as important as the physical.

I work with people of all ages and abilities; whether you are a regular gym goer and need someone to help you reach a specific goal or if you're new to exercise and need someone to boost your confidence!
